So much of today’s game is played off of the bounce; this clinic will introduce campers to cutting-edge ball handling drills, many of which Nick uses when he trains NBA players. The second phase of the clinic will be dedicated to scoring off of the dribble with an emphasis on aggressively reading and reacting off of the bounce.
Passing is the most underdeveloped fundamental skill in basketball. Passing drills are also outdated. Hoop Dreamers will be pushed outside there comfort zone and work on weak hand passing, passing off of the dribble and passing under pressure with accuracy. Campers will get up a high volume of game speed shots of game-specific movements and cuts.
Hoop Dreamers will work on scoring and finishing off of common game specific cuts and screens. In addition campers will work on shooting jump shots off a variety of screens with an emphasis on footwork.
Hoop Dreamers will work on fundamental finishes. The progression will be reps without a defense, reps with a dummy defense and on one finishing to develop a feel for finishing. Players will be pushed outside their comfort zone with cutting-edge ball handling drills with an emphasis on; fingertip control, tight handle, pending the ball, keeping your eyes up the floor and weak hand confidence.
